Blue maomao in South Island

Yes, there is a record of blue maomao from Kaikoura - Andrew Stewart from Te Papa saw or collected some from there and I've noted this in the latest edition of Coastal Fishes of NZ. They were juveniles with distinctive yellow anal fins. But this is pretty rare - I don't know of any other South Island records, and they are hardly ever seen around Wellington.
