Simon: whereabouts did you see that moray? Looks familiar to me. May have it on film. Was it blind in both eyes? I have seen one much like yrs . It was eyeless totally. It may have ben congentital I considered. The socket area showed no sign of trauma. Thrusting your head into crevices in the dark wld have its perils. Fish hooks used to inflict some injuries; mostly to mouths but foul hooking cld catch an eye. A moray has the very best of olfactory capacities: down to a single molecule. So being blind may not be such a handicap except perhaps when relating. They are night hunters. I know of no age work on morays but eels can reach great ages. Did you know that black angels can be about a century in age.
