Hi Wade,
It was a stunning weekend for diving at the Bay of Islands. The schooling fish life on the far side of 'Hole in the Rock' was astonishing. Surface feeding Trevally with schools of Sweep, Blue maomao, Kahawai, Jack mackerel and Pink maomao underneath.
I saw a Magpie Perch at 45 metres off Piercy Island at the tip of Cape Brett which was pretty exciting. My first sighting of this species in New Zealand.
