Wade:I am unhappy about the mad trend of dolphin swimming where people in large numbers are thrown into the water among dolphins, then plucked out and the process repeated. I feel that fast boats indulging urban expectations is a little degrading (or a lot degrading) to dolphins. The proliferation of fast 'eco friendly' cats scares me a bit. I will stay with my Gemini Galaxsea I think.
I have developed a swimbar where people can see dolphins underwater without leaving the boat, without chasing, without catch-up and in harmony with the movements of the animals. I take a certain pride that dolphins call the shots in every encounter and that we have such success with a sailing vessel capable of only around 6.2 knots under motor.
Our normal working speed among dolphins during encounters, with people on the swim bar is less than 1.5 knots. It's different, it's nice.
I hope you are well as is Jan and the rest of your family.
Cheers
Butler
