The trawler Ekdale that followed Moko to Tauranga has just returned to Gisborne. They have seen no sign of the solo dolphin but, we are reminded, when he lived at Mahia over a period of 2.5 years there were prolonged absences. People worry he may have been caught in a net or orca jaws...
Many years ago a man confessed on his death bed he had put down Pelorous Jack. The huge Grampus grisseus dolphin was stranded on a beach after a storm. Only later did he realise it was PJ and he suffered a lifetime of guilt.
