Yesterday 2 k east of Poor Knights Islands 40 mantas were counted. All sizes, small to car size, many leaping from water; lots of bottlenose and common dolphins; sunfishes; bait balls but no marlin. Water temp was 21 degrees and deep blue out there. Some water was 23 degrees. At the Knights vis around 15 m but much clearer in caves.
So many mantas have not been reported before out there. Some were feeding on the bait balls.
