I often get asked what makes the snapping and popping noises you hear on the underwater parts of a boats hull especially at night. Some peoples imagination get hold of them thinking it is a fire, the sound of the boat rusting away, electrolysis, toredo worms (i hope not!). I thought it was some type of shimp grazing on the algae but is it really? Any info?
